Application
(1) Tetrachloroethylene is used as a solvent for degreasing, frozen, Dry cleaning, spices, textile processing, washing the fabric, rubber industry, such as washing the fabric. 
 
(2) Tetrachloroethylene is chemical intermediate in production of fluorocarbons. Insulating fluid and cooling gas in electrical transformers.
 
(3) Features high transparancy in the MIR region and is a less toxic alternative to CCl4 in IR spectroscopy.
